Dear Lord please be with us this day and help us have the understanding to hear and submit to the guidance of the Holy Spirit. Please help us find the virtues to live as we should on this day, with our thoughts and deeds patterned after Jesus Christ and please give us the patience and wisdom to find our own shortcomings and mistakes that need correcting, instead of taking on the job of finding the faults of others. In Jesus Christ's name we pray, amen.

Lu 6:41 And why beholdest thou the mote that is in thy brother's eye, but perceivest not the beam that is in thine own eye?
Lu 6:42 Either how canst thou say to thy brother, Brother, let me pull out the mote that is in thine eye, when thou thyself beholdest not the beam that is in thine own eye? Thou hypocrite, cast out first the beam out of thine own eye, and then shalt thou see clearly to pull out the mote that is in thy brother's eye.
