Problems

Dear Lord please be with us today and help us to have the virtues necessary to face the problems that come our way. May we have faith and hope enough to turn to You for the strength and guidance to make wise decisions or maybe no decisions at all until Your timing dictates. Please give us what patience and confidence is necessary to cope with what comes our way, and help us to understand that in a short time with direction from the comforting Holy Spirit, problems can become blessings and opportunities, if it be God's Will. In Christ name we pray, amen.

Patience

Dear Lord please may this be a good day today, and may the things that we try to do work out alright and for the best. Please help us to have patience and compassion as we go through this day, and when things don't seem to be going the way that we wanted, help us to realize that if we are working in the envelope of Your love and understanding, with compassion and patience, You and your strength will be there for us to tap into. We can do all things through Jesus Christ Who strengthens us, if God is for us who can be against us. Dear Lord please stay with us, guide us, and protect us, in Christ name we pray, amen.

Priorities

Dear Lord please be with us today and please may this be a good day. May the things that we try to do work out alright and for the best and may we set our priorities right. May we not be selfish with our time or actions and after this day may we not wish that we had set our priorities different. Please stay with us today, guide us and protect us, thank you for all of the great gifts that you have given us. In Christ name we pray, amen.

Open Mind

Dear Lord please may this be a good day today, help us to have an open mind and be willing to compromise as we deal with others today. Help us to realize that change, though hard to accept and appreciate when the old way seems so adequate, can be the way to growth and prosperity for whatever the challenges we are trying to resolve on this day. Please may the Holy Spirit be at work in our understandings today and may we be able to give up the old ways if necessary to keep our virtues intact and becoming stronger. Thank you for all of the great gifts that you have given us, in Christ name we pray, amen.

Another Positive Day

Dear Lord thank you for all of the great gifts that you have given us, and may this be a good day today. May the things that we try to do work out alright and for the best, and may we solve more problems than we create. Please help us to create opportunities for others to have a good day, and influence others to be positive about their circumstances and possibilities. May the situations and people that we encounter today be better and happier because of something that we say or do. Please help us to feel your presence to day Lord, in Christ name we pray, amen.

Appearances

Dear Lord please be with us today, guide us and protect us, and help us to have the right values, priorities, and attitudes as we face this day. Please may this be a good day, and please help us to have the right motives for the things that we say and do, and to be humble as we come in contact with others in whatever social setting we find ourselves. Help us to do as Jesus taught according to Luke 14:7-11 in not exalting ourselves, but remaining humble and not seeking glory. Our rewards and glory will come by the Grace of God if we have patience and values as given among the gifts of the Holy Spirit. They may come unnoticed by others in the form of great satisfaction, knowing that we have done as our Lord would want. Thank you dear Lord for all of the great gifts that you have given us, amen.

Compassion

Dear Lord please may this be a good day today and may our actions be driven by compassion for others. Help us not to hurt others by what we say or do, but help us to build others to higher points of love and self esteem, and to give them confidence in their abilities to achieve greatness in spite of their weaknesses. Please be with us and may we have a positive and productive day, amen

Adventure

It has come to me that a good way to approach life is one day at a time, or one adventure at a time. Life is an adventure for sure, or is it a whole series of adventures depending on what our situation is. My father was a cab driver for thirty years, and I tried it for a short time for additional income when I was a young breadwinner for a young family. You never knew who your next fare would be nor where the experience would take you, so talk about many adventures in a day of work, this was a good example. No matter what your circumstance is you should be able to have adventures, even the home bound should be able to travel by book or electronics in this day. If you are too busy trying to make a living, maybe trying to tease your brain with enough imagination to stop and smell the roses as you labor would be good for your mental health. If on the other hand you are bored with an uninteresting life with not enough challenges, either way, seeking the Kingdom of God will be a wonderful adventure for you, and your life will take on new meaning. Find your place in God's world, He has a need for you to fill. Dear Lord please be with us today, amen.

Understanding

Dear Lord please be with us today and may this be a good day, and may the things that we try to do work out alright and for the best. Please help us to have understanding and empathy for other people, especially those who we don't agree with, as we see and hear of their thoughts and actions. Help us consider the teachings of Christ as he forgave even those who crucified Him, and taught forgiveness with the Lords Prayer, prodigal son, and the woman caught in adultery, as this same theme was always there throughout. To have understanding, empathy, and forgiveness seem to all emanate from love, the love of God through Christ, truly a gift of the Holy Spirit. Please help us to spread this love among others through our speech and actions, in Christ name we pray, amen.

Accomplishments

Dear Lord please be with us today, help us to have the right attitude as we approach each task to be done. At the end of the day may we be able to look back at the path that we have taken this day and see positive accomplishments and order in the things we have touched. Help us to have the patience necessary to wait when we should and go forward when we should. As the days pass may we gain wisdom and insight in how You would have us handle problems and make decisions which may make differences in the future that cannot be seen from our perspective on this day.

Dysfunctional

Dear Lord please be with us this day and may the things that we try to do work out alright and for the best. Help us to have a loving attitude and find ways to make life smoother, gentler, and more orderly for who ever we deal with. I recently discovered an allegory for life while on our sailboat with two of our grandsons. The wind was a little strong, the boys ten and twelve were full of energy and questions, so getting all of the preparatory done, life jackets, engine running, lines untied, safely away from docks, foresail properly lashed down to bow pulpit, and mainsail raised, all done with the help of eager inexperience, was a little hectic for this not too patient a grandpa. Then with grandma's help, noisy engine is turned off, tiller puts bow at proper point of sail, kids and lines stowed properly. Order is restored and peaceful smooth sailing is realized.

I believe that a dysfunctional chaotic life can be brought to a point of order with the help of prayer, positive scripture, and searching for God's will and desire for our life.

Dear Lord please stay with us, guide us and protect us, amen.

Opportunities

Dear Lord, please be with us today, thank You for all of the great gifts that You have given us, and please forgive our sins. Help us to look on the challenges that we face today as opportunities to have adventures with You in Your world, and to recognize Your guidance as You make it available to us. Help us to use the opportunities to further Your Kingdom and do Your work even if only to lighten someones load ever so slightly in Your Name. Stay with us all, guide us and protect us, in Christ Name we pray amen.

The Kingdom is Closer

Dear Lord thank you for all of the great gifts that you have given us. Some days it is hard to see the good in the world if the news of the world is all presented as being negative, but every day wonderful children are being born, silver haired saints are graduating from the toils of this life to be with You, while still acts of kindness both small and large are being performed in Your name in every corner of this world. Please help us to understand that Your Kingdom"s coming is on Your schedule which is beyond our ability to comprehend. May the things that we try to do work out alright and for the best. In Christ name we pray amen.
