To Struggle With Temptation

Dear Lord please be with us this day and please may Your Holy Spirit be guiding and protecting us in every thing that we say and do. Thank You for all of the great gifts and the blessings and the protection that You give us and please forgive our sins the same as we forgive the mistakes of others.

Dear Lord please show us paths to take that will require values and priorities of patient thought and attitudes of compassion as we mix and mingle with Your Children in Your Creation while seeking Your Kingdom among the temptations of this world which seem to be so strongly built on hate and greed, when attitudes built on generosity and compassion would be easier to satisfy and justify as we move forward in seeking to be in Your Presence as we try to use Your Word for our guide, in Jesus Christ's name we pray, amen.

Quotation:*

TO weep for those that are in hard days, to be grieved for those that are pinched and pinned with poverty, is a duty to which we are called under a threefold consideration:

1st. As men, being of the self-same nature, mold and matter with them that are troubled or poor.

2nd. As being ourselves subject to the same special troubles where with others are troubled.

3rd. We should compassionate the troubles of many as being the same faith with us.   ~ Joseph Caryl

He that hath helped others out of their afflictions may probably look for pity in and help out of his affliction. ~ Joseph Caryl's

KJV*

Mt 11:28 Come unto me, all ye that labour and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest.

Mt 11:29 Take my yoke upon you, and learn of me; for I am meek and lowly in heart: and ye shall find rest unto your souls.

Mt 11:30 For my yoke is easy, and my burden is light.

1Jo 5:3 For this is the love of God, that we keep his commandments: and his commandments are not grievous.

1Jo 5:4 For whatsoever is born of God overcometh the world: and this is the victory that overcometh the world, even our faith.

1Jo 5:5 Who is he that overcometh the world, but he that believeth that Jesus is the Son of God?

Heb 2:18 For in that he himself hath suffered being tempted, he is able to succour them that are tempted.

Heb 4:15 For we have not an high priest which cannot be touched with the feeling of our infirmities; but was in all points tempted like as we are, yet without sin.

Heb 4:16 Let us therefore come boldly unto the throne of grace, that we may obtain mercy, and find grace to help in time of need.
