Competition

Dear Lord please be with us this day and may Your Holy Spirit please be guiding and protecting us in every thing that we say and do. Thank You for all of the great gifts and blessings and protection that You give us and please forgive our sins the same as we forgive the mistakes of others.
Dear Lord please lead us into paths of understanding, wisdom, and compassion on this day so that we may be able to cope with whatever problems that may come up as we deal with Your Children in Your Creation that You have made us a part of by way of miraculous birth and survival.
Dear Lord please show us that while we think sometimes that our problems are so large, they are only as large as we let them become by worrying and fretting over the things that will work themselves out for the best if we but give You control.
Dear Lord please help us not to fall into the trap of trying to have the most and the best, as if life has to be a time of competition, in Jesus Christ's name we pray, amen.

Quotation:*
Competition, founded upon the conflicting interests of individuals, is in reality far less productive of wealth and enterprise than cooperation, involving though it does the constant apparent sacrifice of the individual to the common interests. --R.H. Benson

KJV*
Ge 13:1 And Abram went up out of Egypt, he, and his wife, and all that he had, and Lot with him, into the south.
Ge 13:2 And Abram was very rich in cattle, in silver, and in gold.
Ge 13:3 And he went on his journeys from the south even to Bethel, unto the place where his tent had been at the beginning, between Bethel and Hai;
Ge 13:4 Unto the place of the altar, which he had made there at the first: and there Abram called on the name of the LORD.
Ge 13:5 And Lot also, which went with Abram, had flocks, and herds, and tents.
Ge 13:6 And the land was not able to bear them, that they might dwell together: for their substance was great, so that they could not dwell together.
Ge 13:7 And there was a strife between the herdmen of Abram's cattle and the herdmen of Lot's cattle: and the Canaanite and the Perizzite dwelled then in the land.
Ge 13:8 And Abram said unto Lot, Let there be no strife, I pray thee, between me and thee, and between my herdmen and thy herdmen; for we be brethren.
Ge 13:9 Is not the whole land before thee? separate thyself, I pray thee, from me: if thou wilt take the left hand, then I will go to the right; or if thou depart to the right hand, then I will go to the left.

Php 4:1 Therefore, my brethren dearly beloved and longed for, my joy and crown, so stand fast in the Lord, my dearly beloved.
Php 4:2 I beseech Euodias, and beseech Syntyche, that they be of the same mind in the Lord.
Php 4:3 And I intreat thee also, true yokefellow, help those women which laboured with me in the gospel, with Clement also, and with other my fellowlabourers, whose names are in the book of life.
Php 4:4 Rejoice in the Lord alway: and again I say, Rejoice.
Php 4:5 Let your moderation be known unto all men. The Lord is at hand.
Php 4:6 Be careful for nothing; but in every thing by prayer and supplication with thanksgiving let your requests be made known unto God.
Php 4:7 And the peace of God, which passeth all understanding, shall keep your hearts and minds through Christ Jesus.
Php 4:8 Finally, brethren, whatsoever things are true, whatsoever things are honest, whatsoever things are just, whatsoever things are pure, whatsoever things are lovely, whatsoever things are of good report; if there be any virtue, and if there be any praise, think on these things.
