Dear Lord please help us to understand the meaning of Your Word becoming flesh, and the power that came to Your children along with the Truth of Your Kingdom. To see the metaphor of the seed of the sower and Word of God. To see the metaphor of the flesh of Christ and the Word of God's Truth as Jesus preached the Gospel. In Jesus Christ's name we pray, amen.
KJV
Joh 1:1 In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God.
Joh 1:14 And the Word was made flesh, and dwelt among us, (and we beheld his glory, the glory as of the only begotten of the Father,) full of grace and truth.
Lu 8:1 And it came to pass afterward, that he went throughout every city and village, preaching and shewing the glad tidings of the kingdom of God: and the twelve were with him,
Lu 8:4 And when much people were gathered together, and were come to him out of every city, he spake by a parable:
Lu 8:5 A sower went out to sow his seed: and as he sowed, some fell by the way side; and it was trodden down, and the fowls of the air devoured it.
Lu 8:6 And some fell upon a rock; and as soon as it was sprung up, it withered away, because it lacked moisture.
Lu 8:7 And some fell among thorns; and the thorns sprang up with it, and choked it.
Lu 8:8 And other fell on good ground, and sprang up, and bare fruit an hundredfold. And when he had said these things, he cried, He that hath ears to hear, let him hear.
Lu 8:9 And his disciples asked him, saying, What might this parable be?
Lu 8:10 And he said, Unto you it is given to know the mysteries of the kingdom of God: but to others in parables; that seeing they might not see, and hearing they might not understand.
Lu 8:11 Now the parable is this: The seed is the word of God.
Lu 8:12 Those by the way side are they that hear; then cometh the devil, and taketh away the word out of their hearts, lest they should believe and be saved.
Lu 8:13 They on the rock are they, which, when they hear, receive the word with joy; and these have no root, which for a while believe, and in time of temptation fall away.
Lu 8:14 And that which fell among thorns are they, which, when they have heard, go forth, and are choked with cares and riches and pleasures of this life, and bring no fruit to perfection.
Lu 8:15 But that on the good ground are they, which in an honest and good heart, having heard the word, keep it, and bring forth fruit with patience.

Values
Dear Lord please be with us today and help us to have the right values as we travel through this day. May we have thoughts and deeds of generosity and not be enveloped in concerns about our own well being at the expense of others. Please may we be guided by the Holy Spirit, in Jesus Christ's name we pray, amen.
KJV
Pr 19:17 He that hath pity upon the poor lendeth unto the LORD; and that which he hath given will he pay him again.
Pr 22:9 He that hath a bountiful eye shall be blessed; for he giveth of his bread to the poor.
Pr 28:27 He that giveth unto the poor shall not lack: but he that hideth his eyes shall have many a curse.
2Co 9:6 But this I say, He which soweth sparingly shall reap also sparingly; and he which soweth bountifully shall reap also bountifully.
2Co 9:7 Every man according as he purposeth in his heart, so let him give; not grudgingly, or of necessity: for God loveth a cheerful giver.
2Co 9:8 And God is able to make all grace abound toward you; that ye, always having all sufficiency in all things, may abound to every good work:

Deficit
Dear Lord please be with us today and may this be a good day in Your Kingdom. It has come to me that this word deficit has been in my world ever since I was a small child, and I would hear it over and over again on the evening news as the politicians beat on each other with their oratory about the national debt and the terrible financial problems looming in the future because of the deficit. Of course this problem was the age old "not enough money" or too much spending. What a contrast to the message of Jesus as He pleaded for more compassion and sowing of the seeds of brotherly love. A deficit of love is problematic no matter where it is in society, no matter how big or how small. Please may the Holy Spirit be with us, guide us, and protect us, in Jesus Christ's name we pray, amen.
KJV
Pr 11:18 The wicked worketh a deceitful work: but to him that soweth righteousness shall be a sure reward.
Ga 6:8 For he that soweth to his flesh shall of the flesh reap corruption; but he that soweth to the Spirit shall of the Spirit reap life everlasting.
Job 4:8 Even as I have seen, they that plow iniquity, and sow wickedness, reap the same.
Ho 10:12 Sow to yourselves in righteousness, reap in mercy; break up your fallow ground: for it is time to seek the LORD, till he come and rain righteousness upon you.
2Co 9:6 But this I say, He which soweth sparingly shall reap also sparingly; and he which soweth bountifully shall reap also bountifully.

Refuge
Dear Lord please help us to find refuge with Your Spirit when we feel overcome with things too much for us to bare alone. May we fall into Your care and comforting as soon as we feel the anguish of the burden whatever it may be. Thank You for all of Your great gifts, please give us understanding on this day, in Jesus Christ's name we pray, amen.
KJV

Ps 61:3 For thou hast been a shelter for me, and a strong tower from the enemy.

Emotions
Dear Lord please be with us today and may we feel emotions of love and joy today as we mix in with other people having the same circumstances as ours. Please protect us from emotions of dread and worry that might come from bad memories or bad news discovered on this day. Help us to understand that dread, worry, and fear are weapons used to separate us from our Lord. Please give us the courage to try new adventures and the strength necessary to cope with what emotions this brings to a good day. In Jesus Christ's name we pray, amen.
KJV
Pr 1:33 But whoso hearkeneth unto me shall dwell safely, and shall be quiet from fear of evil.
Ps 34:4 I sought the LORD, and he heard me, and delivered me from all my fears.
2Ti 1:7 For God hath not given us the spirit of fear; but of power, and of love, and of a sound mind.

Ability
Dear Lord please be with us this day, and may the things that we say and do be according to Your guidance. May we find ability to handle what ever circumstances we find ourselves in, and may we be a positive addition as Your children work in Your Kingdom today. In Jesus Christ's name we pray, amen.
KJV
1Pe 4:10 As every man hath received the gift, even so minister the same one to another, as good stewards of the manifold grace of God.
1Pe 4:11 If any man speak, let him speak as the oracles of God; if any man minister, let him do it as of the ability which God giveth: that God in all things may be glorified through Jesus Christ, to whom be praise and dominion for ever and ever. Amen.

Motives
Dear Lord please be with us today and may the motives that drive us be to bring glory to You, not to ourselves. May the things that we say and do be guided by the Holy Spirit, and may our spirit be one of humility. In Jesus Christ's name we pray, amen.
KJV
Pr 16:19 Better it is to be of an humble spirit with the lowly, than to divide the spoil with the proud.
1Co 15:10 But by the grace of God I am what I am: and his grace which was bestowed upon me was not in vain; but I laboured more abundantly than they all: yet not I, but the grace of God which was with me.
